VERSATILE PIECES EVERY GIRL NEEDS IN HER CLOSET

Happy Monday guys! I hope you all had a great Christmas with loved ones! Can you believe we are less than a week away from 2017!? Crazy right? Today’s post is all about this transitional look. What I love about this outfit is that it can take you from day to night and utilizes very versatile pieces from my closet. I was inspired by street style shots I recently saw of Gigi Hadid and totally wanted to recreate her look.

I really love the boyfriend jean look; it’s super versatile and looks great styled in so many ways. I’ve styled these pants with heels, booties, sneakers, and flats. I can literally pair anything with it and it looks great. You can dress it up with heels and a blazer or dress it down with sneakers and a sweatshirt. Having pieces like this in my closet really help me create so many different looks, using the same piece. Some versatile bottoms every fashionista should have in her closet are skinny jeans, boyfriend jeans, cropped jeans, distressed jeans, flair jeans, and dressy jeans. You should have a variety of colors including black, dark denim, light denim, white, grey, and of course a fun pair.

Although I’m really into all black outfits, I really love neutral colors as well. This camel coat is one I’m always wearing because just like the jeans, it is a very versatile piece that looks great paired with almost anything. Coats are a necessary staple in any wardrobe during the colder months and some coats you should have include a trench coat, a peacoat, a parka, a camel coat, a black coat, furry coat, and a statement coat. My favorite statement coat in my closet is my red and black plaid one and leopard print one.

I threw on a simple white tank under the coat and paired the look with these amazing Joie booties. When adding basics to your closet, be sure to add white, cream, tan, grey, black tanks/tees/long sleeves. I also like to add other neutral colors such as olive and brick. I tied the look together with these amazing suede Joie booties and a fun leopard print Henri Bendel bag. When keeping my look my simple, I love to add a bag with a fun print or bold color to add that extra punch to my look!

Wearing: H&M Coat, Zara Jeans, Topshop Tank, Joie Booties, Henri Bendel Bag

Seeing everyone in so many great coats this season has me thinking I need a couple of new ones as staples for our next winter. A camel, a red and a leopard are all on my list!

Actually I think this look would look equally good on a guy too as the basics are basically the same, yet with a somewhat different cut. 🙂
Love your styling on this outfit!

Love these basic yet versatile pieces. I am always impressed with your outfits and i love the edge you add. Boyfriend jeans are my fav since they’re comfy and also edgy. This camel coat is a must have for winter and love that you knotted the tee and kept your California style. Xoxo, Christine
