Hi friends! I hope you are all staying healthy and safe. With all the craziness going on, I know how hard these times can be for all of us. It’s important for us to stay connected during this time so after getting a great response for sharing these on IG, I thought I would create a quarantine cheat sheet and share some of my tips for getting through this crazy time! So I’ll just get right into it, below you will find a list of things to do while social distancing, organization tips, work from home tips, and self-care tips. Enjoy!
THINGS TO DO WHILE SOCIAL DISTANCING:
- read a new book + magazine
- write in a journal
- manifest, set new goals and intentions, make a bucket list, share whatever is on your mind
- listen to a podcast
- do your taxes
- read up on money matters
- investment strategies, the stock market, your savings goals, budgeting, etc.
- learn a new recipe
- declutter
- rearrange furniture
- play board games + start a puzzle
- workout at home
- Youtube and Pinterest are great resources for workout ideas
- make art, draw, paint
- get handy and fix things around the home
- learn something new about anything that interests you
- sports, health, history, a new language, etc.
- meditate
- learn to do nail art
- find new music
- start a blog
- start a project you’ve been putting off
- organzine all the things
THINGS TO ORGANIZE:
- your closet
- get an early start on spring cleaning, donate to those in need, sell on poshmark/depop/etc.
- your purses (we all know how messy those can get)
- your bathroom and all beauty products
- get rid of expired product + things you never use, wash you makeup brushes, etc.
- your computer
- go through documents, photos, back up on a hard drive, etc.
- your phone
- clean + organize photos, delete apps you no longer use, etc.
- your inbox
- categorize emails, unsubscribe from unwanted emails, etc.
- you car + garage
- your kitchen
- pantry, cabinets, dishware, etc.
WORK FROM HOME TIPS:
- maintain your morning routine
- wake up at the same time and continue doing things you normally would such as showering, getting ready, making breakfast, walking your dog, etc.
- plan out your day
- I have a physical planner that I write in everyday, it’s easier for me to get things done when I write it out and have a schedule
- time block
- when planning your day, set time limits for everything so you stay on track and get all your work done by the end of the day
- work in a quiet space, away from distractions
- it’s easy to get distracted when working from home so try to avoid working from the couch, sit at a table as if you would in an office, and minimize distractions; creating an office environment is key and if you live with other people, respect each others space during work hours
- take breaks
- get up and walk around the house, have lunch away from your desk, get a workout in, step outside for some fresh air, whatever it may be.. it’s always nice to take breaks
- end your day the way you normally would:
- if you can, finish your work at the same time, tackle personal tasks such as cleaning or doing laundry, workout, cook dinner, watch your favorite show, etc.
& DON’T FORGET TO PRACTICE SELF-CARE:
Take this time off to rest and relax, take a bath, catch up on sleep, mask, catch up on your favorite show or binge a new one, dance, light some candles, unplug, do some online shopping, pin new things on Pinterest, FaceTime and call your loved ones, laugh, cuddle with your pets, have a glass of wine… do whatever that brings you peace and keeps you calm during this time!
So there you have it, this has been super helpful for me so I hope it does the same for you! Just a friendly reminder to please please stay indoors if you can, it’s the only way we can help turn things around sooner than later. We are all in this together, and this too shall pass. Stay safe!! xx
