MAD FOR PLAID

Plaid has always been one of my favorite prints. Honestly I don’t wear prints that often though, I usually stick to something more subtle and play with textures instead. However I’m always drawn towards pieces that are plaid or have some plaid print in them! One of the greatest things about plaid print is you can find just about any color combination in it – my favorites being the classic red and black, or white and black. Your choices for plaid pieces aren’t limited to just button downs and jackets anymore. You can find almost anything in plaid print these days, from denim to handbags. If you feel like a plaid print may be too bold for you and are opting for a more subtle look, layering is key. Mixing the print with different textures will create some contrast in your look and won’t draw all the focus to that one piece. I really love this plaid long sleeve because the red is not too bright, it is more dark which is the type of plaid red I like! I paired it with these cool shorts from Topshop that I absolutely love because of the panels on the sides. They make the pair unique and adds some structure to the look. I finished off my outfit with booties and my favorite new clutch from Henri Bendel – I am so obsessed with the embossed croc look! What are some of your favorite plaid pieces?
