In my opinion, there is no better color than black. Shocker!? Ehh not really… if you’ve been following my blog then you know black is my favorite color to wear, my go-to color, and the shade that makes up most of my wardrobe. Black will never go out of style and will always be classy, chic, and edgy. While some may think black is boring, I think the complete opposite. I mean yeah, black skinnies and a black tee may get boring after some time – but if you style your look right and play with textures and shapes, black will never be boring! I love how you can still feel girly in a little black dress, or feel like a complete rockstar in black wax pants and a distressed tee. If you think all black is too heavy, I recommend playing with textures such as lace and sheer fabrics which can lighten up your look a bit. If you’re looking to add a pop of color, I think your handbag is a great way to do that!

I incorporated all of this for today’s look – a black cotton tee, black patent leather skirt, and a black longline duster coat. I paired my outfit with black pointed booties with silver hardware and my black and red Alexander McQueen clutch. Even though I’m wearing all black, this look incorporates a different concept in each piece, head to toe. I especially love the patent skirt and the longline duster coat. Patent leather is one of my favorite looks – it is super edgy and I just love that it makes the darkest shade in the book look even darker. Lately I’ve been so drawn to longline tops and jackets. I love how it adds height to the look and it’s different from your typical mid length coat. Longline coats will definitely be one of my favorite staples for fall! I love a completely all black look, but for this outfit I wanted to add a pop of color. As I had mentioned above, using your handbag to add some color to your look is a great option and that is exactly what I did! Black on black may not be for everyone, but I do think anyone can pull it off. Just play off your style and mix different textures and fabrics. Plus, fall and winter are the perfect seasons to bring out this dark shade 🙂

Hope everyone has a great week ahead and have a fun and safe Halloween weekend!
