LAID BACK LOOK

This past weekend my family and I headed up north to Berkeley, CA, a city just across the bay from San Francisco. My sister attends UC Berkeley so we went up to help her move in and get settled before school starts. We stayed in the calm and serene Berkeley Marina – with the pretty view and all the boats, I knew it was the perfect opportunity to shoot! I went with a relaxed and laid back look because I think it was just fitting with the setting. A summer dress would have been cute too but, unlike SoCal, it was pretty chilly and windy out and since I’m literally ALWAYS cold, I opted for an outfit that covered me up! In my opinion, there is nothing more laid back than a pair of cool boyfriend jeans. Anyone who knows me knows I hate extremely tight and uncomfortable pants, so I love a good pair boyfriend jeans. I often have a hard time finding ones that are flattering on me so when I find a pair that fit me well, I have to make the purchase! I like to pair boyfriend jeans with a crop top or tank, but I also like to pair it with a loose fitting button down. As for shoes, I think the one-strap heel is the perfect match – it balances out this look by adding a more feminine touch to it. In the Fall and Winter, I like to switch it up by wearing booties. Both looks work, just play off your mood (and the weather)! I finished off my look by throwing on a black wide brim hat. A hat can change up your look instantly and even though I don’t wear them often, I love changing it up and throwing one on. Plus, if you’re having a bad hair day, a hat can be your best friend! It took a lot of shots to get this blog post. Not only was it cold, but the wind was crazy – I almost even lost my hat! Let’s just say I’m definitely more of a SoCal girl 🙂
