After being in the blogging business for over 2 years now, I have learned so much about the world of beauty. By no means did I ever consider myself someone who knows a lot about beauty because fashion was always my thing. I was one of those girls who always had my go-to beauty products and didn’t really branch out to try new things. I was always worried about how my skin would react to new products (I have super sensitive skin) and never wanted to risk getting a break out, because we all dread those! However, once I started blogging, I started opening up to the idea of trying new products, because well, you won’t know if you like it until you try it. Over the course of the past year, I have gotten more and more into beauty, and most recently skincare. I aways had my go-to routine which was cleanser, toner, moisturizer, and eye cream. That’s about it. But I recently have been opening myself up to adding more steps into my routine because I have been hearing some amazing things about so many products.
The past two months I have seen a big change in my skin. I am not breaking out as much as I used to, my skin looks brighter and healthier, more toned, and my dark acne scars have lightened up. Woohoo! I owe it all to three new products I added to my daily routine: NuFace facial toning device, vitamin c, and a few exfoliating products.
After my trip to Tulum, I went and got a Kerstin Florian facial, and I remember the aesthetician telling me my skin needed to be exfoliated more. I was really never exfoliating my skin to be honest because I would always break out after, but ultimately I think I was just using the wrong products. So I took her advice and made sure to make an effort to exfoliate my skin more. Exfoliating also helps get rid of dark scars which I needed help with. To help with the scaring, I was also recommended vitamin c, which I had been wanting to try for a while because my mom kept telling me how amazing it is. So I added that to my routine as well. I also felt like my skin was very dull and had no volume, and that is why I turned to the NuFace device. I had the opportunity to try it out and I was so excited, because my best friend had always told me amazing things about it! So I added these 3 things to my beauty routine and my skin has never looked better! Here is a breakdown of the products I started using:
NuFace: This is a facial toning device which uses micro currents to help improve facial contour, skin tone, and wrinkle reduction in as little as 5 minutes. It is known as the “5 minute facial” pretty much! My experience has been great using this, after using it for about two months I definitely see a change in my skin. You can use it above your brows and on your cheekbones, but I have been focusing mine mostly on my cheeks because that was a problem area for me. I feel like skin is much more toned now and everything just looks smoother and tighter. I was honestly so happy with the results! It’s also normal to feel little zaps here and there but make sure you’re careful with it and put enough gel so you make sure you don’t zap all your skin 🙂
Vitamin C: I’m sure I’m not the first person who’s told you how good vitamin c is for your skin… people would always tell me about it but I never tried it out until recently. I can’t tell you how happy I am since I started using it. It is seriously AMAZING! Overall my skin looks brighter and healthier, and my scars have lightened by at least 80% over the course of the last two months. I am using Kerstin Florain’s vitamin c serum and let me tell you, this product is so good. Like I said, I have sensitive skin, but this product works so well, yet it is so lightweight I can wear it morning and night and under my makeup without my skin getting oily. Highly recommend!
Exfoliating: Ever since my facial, I made sure exfoliation became a part of my weekly routine. I have three products that I LOVE when it comes to exfoliating. First, is a mask by Glamglow. You guys know how much I love Glamglow, especially their Gravity Mud, but I also love their Youthmud. Youthmud is their exfoliating mask and it works wonders. I use it about once-twice a week, depending on how my skin feels and I use it for about 10-15 minutes. It has pieces of green tea leaf in it and when I rinse it off, I make sure to massage the product in my skin with water so it exfoliates all the dead skin. This is a great mask for exfoliating!
The second product is one that I use about 2-3 times a week, in the shower typically: Kerstin Florian’s exfoliating scrub. I love using this in the shower when my skin is soft and damp and I will massage it gently into my skin before I get out, it leaves my skin feeling so soft and smooth yet it isn’t too harsh on my sensitive skin!
The last exfoliating product I use I another one by Kerstin Florian (love their products!) and it is their Correcting Intensive Renewal Glycol 15 which is petty much a glycolic acid cream. Glycolic acid is an exfoliant that leaves your skin feeling smooth and clear, it helps with acne and acne scars, brightens up your skin, clears up clogged pores, reduces fine lines, and reduces the appearance of pores. It is a miracle worker! I use this twice a week before bed along and it has really helped my skin.
Would love to hear your thoughts! Do you use any of these products or have any recommendations on beauty products I need to try!? Thanks for reading! xx, S.
