In honor of the first week of Summer, I am so excited to share with you guys a new series I will be starting on my blog, #SipsWithSami 🙂 Every week I will be sharing a brand new cocktail recipe with you guys! These recipes will be simple and easy to make (for the most part), pretty to look at (because who doesn’t like a pretty drink?!), and delicious! For my first #SipsWithSami, I opted for a tequila based drink: Chili Lime Mango Margarita.
This drink is totally customizable to your liking and there are two ways you can make it! If you want a blended frozen margarita I recommend using frozen mangos. If you want to serve this on the rocks, use fresh mangos. Of course you can always use fresh mangos + ice to get a blended frozen margarita. Also, you can adjust the heat by adding more or less hot sauce/chili powder.
Chili Lime Mango Margarita:Â
Total time:
- 15 Minutes
Serves:
- 3
Ingredients:
- 1 ripe mango, cubed or ~ 1 cup of frozen mangos (Trader Joes has really good ones)
- 1 cup of orange juice
- 1-2 small limes, juiced (adjust to your sour preference)
- 3 ounces of tequila ( + or – depending on how much booze you like)
- 1 ounce of triple sec
- desired amount of hot sauce, depending on how spicy you like it (optional)
- 1-2 tbsp of agave nectar (add more if you like your drinks sweater)
- 1 lime wedge for rimming the drink
- 1-2 tsp of chili powder (my favorite is Tajin) + 1/4 tsp of sea salt
Instructions:
- Add mango, orange juice, lime juice, tequila, triple sec, hot sauce, and agave nectar into blender and blend until smooth.
- Taste the drink and make adjustments as desired
- If frozen move on to next step. If you want to chill it, transfer mixture to a cocktail shaker with ice and shake if you want to serve right away. If you have time for it to chill, transfer to your fridge for at least 15 minutes.
- With a lime wedge, rim the serving glasses and dip into the chili powder/salt mix and add ice. Pour margarita into glass and add a lime wedge to the rim
- ENJOY!
I would love to hear your thoughts on this new series and if you have any requests on drink recipes, let me know 🙂  xo, Sami
This looks great minus the triple sec – it really isn’t necessary if you use a agave and fresh limes should be enough . I make watermelon margaritas the same way !
I will definitely try this! Sounds so refreshing!!
Can you share something with whisky please?
Love
